Is anyone actually listening to what these guys are saying?

I’m really trying hard not to get too worked up over politics, as it’s really not good for one’s health.  But after watching both of the last two (lame) debates, and seeing a bunch of television clips on the nightly news, I’ve come to realize two things:

  1. There is no way to escape politics unless you turn off the TV.
  2. Most people aren’t actually listening to what the two presidential candidates are saying.

John McCain keeps telling everyone that “…American’s are hurting” when addressing the economic problems here in the United States.  Hurting?  Really?

Taking a fastball to the ribs leaves one hurting.  I guess I haven’t been informed of the new definition of the term “hurting”.

Sure, peoples finances aren’t what they used to be 12 months ago, and some are at risk of losing their home if they haven’t already.  But are they really hurting?

I guess I’m tired of being told that I’m hurting.

McCain makes these comments and then gets a roaring ovation for claiming he’s going to “fix” the problems that are hurting the American people.

Barack Obama then claims that he’s tough on terrorism and he “…wants to kill Osama Bin Laden”.  Yet another roaring ovation erupts.   Way to go out on a limb, there, Barack.

Both candidates claim that we need a quick fix to this credit crisis because right now small businesses “…can’t get a loan to make payroll”.

Think about that for just a minute.  We need to fix this problem because a business can’t get a loan to MAKE PAYROLL!

It’s the free-thinking capitalist in me that ponders the thought:  Maybe these small businesses shouldn’t be able to get a loan to make payroll…  because they’re in the position to need a loan to make payroll!

Right now it’s obvious to this kid that these two clowns of our government are trying to say what ever needs to be said to get themselves elected.  It’s the followers that attend these rallies that hoot and holler when their man says something profound like “I want to kill Osama Bin Laden” as though it’s some kind of revelation that’s going to win the hearts and minds of everyone, that I worry about.

We live in Kansas dude, we all are voting for McCain. I don’t care about the election as much as I am tired of idiots in the office. I hope all of the public as a whole is voting in people that will make some changes in the US politics. We need real people who will handle issues like the economy, healthcare, environmental shortfalls, and bringing some business back to the damn states.

Here’s to believing in the American public, may they choose leaders better than they did mortgages.

    Cheers to that, MJ.

Unfortunately, I’m not so sure we’re replacing the idiots in office with anyone less idiotic.

As a taxpaying american, I am absolutely terrified at the notion that we may end up with some liberal politician in office. You know he’s going to raise taxes… And spread the wealth around? Seriously? How more socialistic can you get?

This guy is going to kick me while I’m down, and take what’s left of my savings and give it some fool who doesn’t want to work.

They’re both idiots and figureheads, it doesn’t freakin matter who gets into the office the same thing will happen and politics will spin it one way or another. Politicians and the media work together to demonize each other, let me put it this way, as a salesman of any product, I could tell you 5 reasons why you need to buy my product. The funny thing is I could also tell you 5 reasons why you shouldn’t buy my product. It’s the same with politics, the democrats vs. republicans, it’s congress making decisions and then spinning one way or the other. They talk out of two sides of their mouth and guess what we are paying for their greed and giving them more power.

And why are we bailing people out, I don’t understand it. Now they want to bail out more companies and give us all more rebates. WHAT THE HELL is going on in Washington? They’re supposed to to be smarter but hell, they are all idiots. It just makes me sick to my stomach, what can we do about it? Don’t even get me started on OPEC and their bull along with why our gov. is so slow to get away from oil and move to another source of fuel. Their hands are in each others pockets, from big oil, to across seas, to large companies again, they gain more power and we as a people get more powerless.
