Change for the sake of change.
October 30th, 2006 by Grant in: PoliticsI’m tired of politics. Actually, I was tired of politics on November 6th, 2002 when we stopped congratulating George Bush on his win and started asking Hillary if she’d run in four years.
For some reason it appears that the incentive to hold public office has become too great.
Clair McCaskill took out a $500,000 personal loan to float the rest of her upcoming campaign commercials.
$500,000!
Assuming she’s not a financial idiot, she has high hopes of seeing a return on that $500 large, to the point where she can repay the loan. Where is that money going to come from?
My personal favorite is the candidate who finishes all his or her ads with “…vote for John Doe, because it’s time for a change.”
Phooey! If that’s the best reason you have for me to vote for you, forget it. We go to the polls to vote for the person we feel is the best possible candidate. I need to feel good about my vote knowing that you’re not going to be as big a schmuck as the guy we have sitting in the seat already.
Truth be told, the Democrats could run away with this election by a landslide if they could just give us a decent reason to vote for them. Tell me what you are going to do in Congress; I already know how bad the guy is you’re running against.
I think, by in large, Americans want to see change for the better in American politics. But I also think their standards for replacement are fairly high.
I guess I’ll look forward to November 7th, when we can continue wondering whether Hillary will run for President or not. After all, we only have two more years to figure it out.
Political rant: done.

Amen brother. Glad to see Im not the only one thats tired of politics.
I totaly agree with your take on the Dems opportunities to clean house. I’d love to see my party walk away with this thing, but I don’t hear enough substance coming from them.
The only thing Republicans have going for them is that they alredy control the house and senate. It’s theirs to lose. larry

Man, that’s quite a personal loan to take out for a seat in politics. She’s probably not the first to throw that much cash into the race. Makes you wonder about the motives…

I wish that dope John Karry would just quit talking. The Democrats don’t need any of his “helP”

Tony, he really stuck his foot in his mouth, again, didn’t he?
You know, if he would just stick to what HE would do to make the U.S. better rather than bad mouthing the “other guy”, there wouldn’t be any opportunity to make dumb remarks like he did.
Maybe these politicians will get the hint sometime or other.
Thanks for contributing, guys.
