Give Your Business An Identity

If you’re a business owner, your clients associate your face with the business.  But what do they associate your business with?

A business logo is the key to establishing an identity for your business.  It is a visual cue that associates your business with the type of service it performs.

A BusinessWeek article revealed Logoworks.com, a site that is in business to give your business a flashy new eye catching logo.  They target small businesses that need an identity to help get their advertising campaign going, and advertise that they can keep costs down because everything is done online.

For the time being, my MS Word generated logo for my business cards are doing the trick, and I can’t justify spending a few hundred dollars to replace it with a professional design.

If you’re in need for a logo, check out Logoworks.com.  They’ve got some examples on display that are pretty catchy, and a new logo could breed new life into your small business.

I just wanted to say that I agree with the important role that a logo plays in giving your business an identity. Like you said, even if you just have a logo that you threw together yourself with free software, be sure to get it on all of your letterheads and everything. People tend to remember visual cues very vividly.
