More Free Tools for Business Development

Corporate BuildingIn my continuing search for financing for my business ventures, I ran across a few more useful tools on the internet. A few deal with business plans, others deal with financing, but the one thing they all have in common is that they’re free. And free is good.

If you’re in the need of a business plan, check out BusinessPlans.org. They’ve got a lot of good examples, specifically the 2MBA example. Business plans are crucial when looking for capital. Additionally, they will validate your company by revealing the strategy and goals you have set out for the business.

They also have a ton of information on what to include in your business plan, and in addition, if you’re not much of a typist, they have software that will create your business plan for you.

The United States Small Business Administration also has a bunch of useful information for the aspiring entrepreneur. They’ve also got an entire page devoted to financing, and they even take you through the eligibility requirements and how to apply for SBA loans.

The last site I found was MyOwnBusiness.org. They offer online courses (much like the BusinessWeek Courses I posted earlier) that are geared toward those who have the itch to start their own business. The presentation is a bit distracting because you have to click through a bunch of pages to find the actual course (they try to sell you something on each page before they start the different topics), but if you’re looking for good resources on how to start a business and which kind of business to start, this should keep you busy for a while.
