Update on My 5 Gallon Piggy Bank
April 6th, 2006 by Grant in: Saving
After reading a few personal finance blogs, I came across one which listed the approximate value of a piggy bank based on volume. I forgot which blog it was, but the data was from the Coinstar website.
Evidently, they figure that there are about $228 in change per gallon. Of course this depends on the specific coins you have in your jar.
So based on the 5 gallon jug I’m using as a piggy bank, I’ll have about $1,100 in change when I fill it to the brim.
Well, it’s a start anyway!
